Privacy policy

This page describes exactly what the site does with data, in the order that matters. Where something does not happen, it says so rather than reserving the right to start.

Effective 16 October 2026

The short version

  • There is no account system, so there is nothing to sign up for and no profile of you anywhere.
  • The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, no advertising and no third-party trackers.
  • Your tests, scores and error history are written to your own browser’s local storage and are never sent to us.
  • Nothing you type is transmitted anywhere. The site has no server that receives data and makes no request to any third party.
  • Nothing is sold, rented or shared for advertising, because nothing is collected to sell.

What is stored on your device

Typing results are kept in your browser’s local storage, which is storage the browser hands to the site and keeps on your own machine. It is not a cookie: it is never attached to a network request, so none of it is transmitted when your browser talks to this site or anywhere else. We cannot read it, and it does not follow you to another browser or device.

aitt:preferences

Your two display settings: whether key sounds are on, and which accent theme you picked.

aitt:last-result

Your most recent finished test — net and raw WPM, accuracy, character counts, the per-second speed samples behind the chart, the characters you mistyped, and the time it finished.

aitt:board

Up to fifty of your recent runs — speed, accuracy, consistency, mode and length — which is what the personal board on the leaderboard page reads.

aitt:weakness

Rolling counts of the characters you mistype and the two-character transitions you were in the middle of. This is the input the Weakness Doctor drills are built from.

That is the complete list. To remove all of it, clear this site’s data in your browser settings, or use the buttons on the leaderboard and AI coach pages, which delete your local run history and your error profile on the spot.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies. It does not use session cookies, preference cookies, analytics cookies or advertising cookies, which is why you have not been shown a cookie banner. Your settings are kept in local storage instead, as described above.

Looking ahead: if advertising is ever added to this site, an advertising provider would set cookies or similar identifiers of its own. That is not in use today. This policy and the effective date above will be updated before any such thing runs, so the page you are reading always reflects what is actually happening.

What leaves your device

Nothing. That is the honest and complete answer.

The passage is generated in your browser, every keystroke is handled in your browser, and the text you type is never transmitted. This includes the Custom Topic mode: the topic you type is matched to a subject area and the passage is assembled from sentence banks that are already part of the page you downloaded. No request is made, no language model is called, and your topic reaches no third party.

Once the page has loaded, the test works with the network switched off entirely, which is the simplest proof of the claim above.

Server logs

The site is a set of static pages. There is no API, no database and no server-side code that receives anything you do — which is why there is nothing for us to log, store or lose.

Like any website, it is delivered by a hosting provider, and that provider keeps its own standard request logs — typically IP address, timestamp, requested URL and browser user agent — for delivery and security. We add no logging of our own on top of that and do not build profiles from it.

Certificates

If you download a certificate, the name you type and the image itself are produced entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and we keep no copy and no record that it happened. The verification ID printed on it is a short code computed locally from the name and the score — it is a reference for a future lookup, not a signature, and as the terms say, it does not prove a result on its own.

Accounts and email

There are no accounts. The sign-in panel in the header is a placeholder for a future release: submitting it sends nothing anywhere and stores nothing, which is why it tells you so. No mailing list exists and no email address is collected by the site.

Accounts, synced history and server-verified certificates are planned. When they arrive, they will come with an updated policy describing what is stored on a server and for how long — published before the feature, not after it.

Third parties

  • Hosting provider — serves the pages and keeps the standard request logs described above.

That is the entire list: one entry. There is no analytics product, no language model, no tag manager, no advertising network, no social media embed, no session recording and no chat widget. The web fonts are compiled into the site at build time and served from this domain, so your browser does not request anything from Google Fonts while you read this.

Children

The site is suitable for school-age learners. It asks for no name, no email address and no date of birth, it has no account to create, and it uploads nothing about the person typing — so there is no personal information about a child for us to hold. If accounts are added, age requirements will be stated here at the same time.

Your data, your control

Because results are stored only in your browser and not on a server, there is no account for us to export, correct or delete — you already hold the only copy. Clearing this site’s data in your browser, or using the clear buttons on the leaderboard and coach pages, removes it permanently. Browsing in a private window means nothing persists at all.

The flip side is worth knowing: if you clear your browser data or switch device, your history is gone and we cannot restore it.

Changes to this policy

The effective date at the top changes whenever this page does. If the site starts doing something materially different with data — accounts, analytics or advertising — this page will be updated before that change goes live, and the new date will make it obvious.
